Used my Pink Paislee again

Let me show you another layout I made with the Amber Road collection from Pink Paislee. This time I used one of the Pink Sketches.
I "borrowed" my half sister's kids for this layout, LOL!

New layout for Little Shop of Sketches

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!! I know I have!! Yesterday, I attended a fab workshop over at SBN, I'll show you the pics later (have to add some finishing touches), but here's a sneak peak of what we've been doing:

And then last Wednesday it was time for my layout over at LSOS. As Tanya is so incredibly busy these days, she asked Mieke and me to look after her blog for the time being. And of course we said yes! That means that every second week I have to write the post and make sure the sketch and everyone's layout is uploaded. This week Pearl found us such a wonderful Guest Designer: Jing-Jing Nickel, check out the LSOS blog to see what she (and the DT) made of the sketch!!

Okay here they are, my layout (about fall being my favorite season) and the sketch:

Now if you feel like scrapping after seeing this sketch, don't forget to upload your creation in the LSOS gallery and maybe you'll win some of Tanya Leigh Design products!!!

Twisted Sketches

Also made last weekend is this layout made with sketch #15 from Twisted Sketches. The photos are taken during Manon's streetdance lessons. I went a bit overboard with this lo; used my edge distresser, sanding block, glimmermist, paint, stickles, sewing machine, rub ons, stamps, bling and of course chipboard, pp from Lily Bee and Bazzill. Love the result though....

And this is the sketch. The twist this week is to use chipboard...well I can do that (as I have boxes full of them)!!

When I came home Sunday, this is what I saw: 2 of my kids with crutches (that is soccer for you....), the third one would have loved to have crutches too...

And don't forget my give-away!! You have until the end of September to become a follower to win this vintage give-away!! Read the details here!

Have a nice day everyone and thanks for your wonderful comments again and again!!

Weekendje weg!

For the last 6 years Mieke, Stefanie, Anita & I go away for a weekend in September. We scrap, watch dvd's, eat out, shop, read, stay up late, have long walks in the woods and talk, talk, talk! And this year we extended our weekend a bit and decided to start on Thursday!! We had so much fun!! Here are some photos:

I really love this season; look how beautiful nature is right now:

And of course Mieke couldn't resist photographing these horses....

And yes, I did create a few layouts too this weekend, here's one I did for a challenge on WijDUS:
Used my September Nook kit, don't you just love these Pink Paislee goodies???

Yeah! Thanks to the challenge at the AC blog I finally scapped Mats' first day at school!! (only 10 months late). Recently I bought these new AC pp "blue skies"; I adore these colours! and with sketch #37 from 52 sketches I created this layout:

I used the papers, stamps, ribbon (with trees) and button from American Crafts "blue skies", the pp used for the journaling is AC "teen" and the green words in the title are Thickers from AC. Furthermore I used "I love school" chipboard stickers from Imaginisce, a Maya Road sheer, different ribbons and staples.

And here's the sketch:

Layout for 52 Sketches 52 weeks

Even laten zien wat ik vandaag heb zitten doen, een layout gemaakt voor 52 Sketches 52 Weeks:
Just wanted to show you what I have done today! A layout for 52 Sketches 52 Weeks:
And some details:

"mijnheer Krabs" kan natuurlijk niet ontbreken!
No Sponge Bob, without Mr Crabs (is that his name in the US?)

En hier is de schets waarop de layout is gebaseerd:
And this is the sketch it's based upon: (#35)

Mats was om 12 uur al vrij maar had een vriendje te spelen en daardoor kon ik heerlijk een uurtje scrappen!
Mats had his bff over to play and that meant some scrappy time for me! Yeah!

And then around 4pm Manon arrived home and told us her brand new shoes for her sports class in school have been stolen! As she attends this school for about 8 days now, I expect this is going to be a very expensive year!!!

WIOIN challenge

Through Wendy's blog I found another lovely blog & challenge: What Is Old Is New!! This is their very first challenge and it consists of this sketch:

And this is my interpretation. A layout about me.....(this may be a first for me...?). Don't really like to do layouts about me, but Manon insisted and since I find it very difficult saying NO to her, here it is! LOL!

And as the layout is about me I had to add some owls. I'm not only addicted to Latte, but to owls too! (I seem to be doing a lot of sketches these days....have to find me another kind of challenge too!)

Layout for Little Shop of Sketches

This Wednesday it was my turn to create a layout with Tanya's sketch.
This is the sketch:
And this is the layout I made:

I can't help it... my pages just don't feel finished if I haven't stitched on them! So lots of machine stitching (again) and I finally got to use my Bazzill stitch template, love it!

Birthday layout

For Scrappin'Kids we, the DT, had to come up with a layout about the birthday of one of our kids, using at least 4 photos of which one is black and white. I had the photos from Mats' 4th birthday printed and here's what I made:

Used "Farmers Market" papers (I love the red/white/blue colours) with the matching stickers.
If you want to see what the other DT members did have a look at the SK blog and don't forget to leave them some love!

See you soon and TFL! Monique

Challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs

On the 1st of September the new challenge blog "Candy Shoppe Designs" was launched and I decided to participate in their very first challenge!

You had to create a layout using:
- paper strips
- something gold
- the colours aqua/pink/purple and cream (=main colour)
and you could choose to use this sketch:

I used three Sassafras Lass pp strips & chipboard and cardstock stickers & a card & a flower, rig rag pp from MM, felt and buttons from Creative Café, Prima flower, gold star from a sheet of AC Thickers, Autumn Leaves swirl stamps, 2 pins, and some bling.

You have to look very good to discover my golden element on the page:

And don't forget: you've still got time to enter in my own give-away!!! Look here for details!

TFL!!

This and that

Good morning,

Are you like me?? Do you start your morning with a coffee and Google Reader?? (after taking the kids to school, walking the dog, cleaning the kitchen and all the bedrooms and putting the laundry in the machine, that is). Then you've probably seen the new post at "Scrap the Boys"..?? Today is the day you have to vote for your favourite layout of August. So, please hop on over and click on my name!!! (if you favor my lo of course....remember the layout where Timothy is eating a watermelon?? that's the one!).

Yesterday I was in my cleaning mode although I've a terrible cold (no, no swine flu for me!) and that was very necessary!! Look at these pics, this is what my house looked like....scrappy stuff everywhere!!!
I really have no idea what to do with all my things, the house is just TOO small!! But I started cleaning anyway and this is what it looks like today!! Much better, huh?? I won't show you the rest of the house because that's still the same (you can only do so much in 1 day).

And more importantly, yesterday was Manon's first day at secondary school!!! She was a bit nervous, but very enthusiastic and of course I had to snap a pic before she set off!

When she came home she was very excited. The day had went very well, the kids in her class are nice and they had been doing all these funny introductory games!
This morning though, there was a bit of a mix up (already), her friend came to pick her up at 7.15 but Manon was still in bed because she was sure they would start an hour later today. Of course she started doubting, but set off an hour later than her friend anyway.....
Now, I can't wait for her to get home and tell me if she was right.....or if she was an hour late on her 2nd day!

TFL!!
